October 13th, 2009 - The AMLPA announced today that they will add two new security features to the application process of prospective members. The first measure relies on moving labor service companies and their in depth knowledge of their local market to report a company. Allowing individual moving labor companies to name unethical businesses within our industry creates for greater information sharing and a cautionary approach if those companies apply to become a member of the AMLPA. As a protective policy to ensure that a company is not denied membership because they were reported by another company, the AMLPA will only use the information provided as a precaution. No moving labor company will be denied membership solely on the reporting from another moving labor company.
The second measure relies on the ethical foundation of the AMLPA and their experienced certified members. A select group of certified members will be asked to contribute personal experiences and information on new applications and prospective members.
